Junge Menschen "U20" und Ältere "Ü60" planen und gestalten gemeinsame Generationencafés. Parallel dazu begleitet eine Filmreihe den Themenschwerpunkt 'Miteinander der Generationen'.
About the project
What is the project about?
The interaction between younger and older people is decreasing the last couple years. As a consequence the different generations are not understand the differences of their way of living.
The project team (mixture of younger and older people) will organize 3 generation coffee meetings, with the goal to bring the different generations in a dialog.
Dornbirn is applying to be "European Youth Capital 2019". With that background the project team will deal with topics which concerns Europe in general. Possible topic, which will be discussed in the generation coffee meetings are "Different Experience with Europe", "Advantages of being european", "demographical changes", "Experience with the topic refugees and asylum".
After each generation coffee meeting the following question will be discussed: "How and where can the different generations interact which each other to find answers to global and european topics. Project groups, which can be created after that question. Those sub project groups will be accompanied by the lead project.will be coached by the core project team.
In addition to the generation coffee meeting a movie series of 3 movies will take place. After each movie the attendees will be invited to discuss topics, which concerns globalization, overageing, etc.
As a public relation activity postcards will be created as a give away to support the project.

Older people as well as the younger people have their own network. It is a remarkable fact that those networks are rarely connected with each other.
Core team
The project "generations together" will have a core team of 8 younger and 6 older people, which will plan and coach the project. The core team is a group from social institutions like "Youth Club", "Senior Club", "Rectory", "Schools", "Senior Thinking Circle", etc.
3 Generation Coffee Meeting
These meetings will held in a world-coffee setting. The core team will organize these meetings and will advertise it with posters in schools and in companies with apprenticeship. For each Generation Coffee Meeting we expect about 60 attendees.
In that meetings topics will be discussed which are important for both generations. Dornbirn is applying to be "European Youth Capital 2019". The main question in the generation coffee meetings is how the interaction between generations can be boosted in order get answers to global and european topics. Questions like globalism then and now, asylum then and now, war then and now, unemployment then and now, etc. The actual topics are not given at the beginning. The topics will be set with a priority from the attendees. As an output of the generation coffee meetings some sub project group can be formed, which also will be accompanied by the core team.
Movie Series
In order of public awareness we will launch a movie series in cooperation with Spielboden Dornbirn (<link www.spielboden.at _blank>www.spielboden.at</link>). The movie theater is able to seat 50 persons. The core team will present the movie. After each movie the attendees will be invited to discuss topics, which concerns globalization and overageing. After each movie the generations will have the possibility to interact with each over a buffet. This buffet will be made from unemployed adolescence which are bound to a social network.
Accomanying Public Relations
All the activities will be advertised in the newspaper of Dornbirn and in the local newspaper. Reports of all activities concerning this project will be published in those papers.
Postcards will be created as give-aways to support this project.
